The region benefits from rich red volcanic soils, abundant rainfall, and warm but mild temperatures—key elements for producing high-quality coffee. As harvest season approaches, coffee producers in Nyeri County adopt an organic and selective approach, hand-picking only fully ripe cherries. Kenya experiences two distinct coffee harvests each year. The early, or "fly crop," is harvested between June and August, while the main crop is picked from October to March, primarily from farms located at higher elevations.
