Rwanda Hobe
Tasting Notes
Description
In Kinyarwanda, 'Hobe' means warm hospitality or welcome. Although Rwanda has carried the stigma of being the poorest country in Africa, it is a place full of people who always greet others with bright smiles and warm hearts. Therefore, the name Hobe Coffee fully embodies the embrace and warmth of the Rwandan people, who accept their neighbors as a community and welcome each other with sincere greetings. The Nyabirasi region where the farm is located is situated in western Rwanda, between Lake Kivu and the Gishwati Natural Forest Reserve. The gentle breezes from the lake and the cool currents from the forest create a unique microclimate in this area, providing an ideal environment for cultivating high-quality coffee. The relationship between Terarosa and Hobe Coffee also goes back a long way. In Rwanda, where coffee-centered agriculture forms a large part of the national economy, the local producers' passion for exporting to Korea was extraordinary. However, in the early stages, many coffees were not adequately prepared, and Terarosa has provided generous advice and feedback over many years for continuous quality improvement and growth. It takes at least 3-4 years for a coffee tree to grow and bear fruit. During that long period, Hobe Coffee also selected only well-ripened cherries, and underwent precise fermentation and delicate drying processes, allowing it to step into another world of specialty coffee. With the newly introduced Hobe Coffee, experience another charm of Rwandan coffee and the warm spirit of its farmers. Countless hours and dedication to quality are imbued in a single cup of coffee.
