Country of Origin: Panama Variety: Geisha Process: Washed Altitude: 1500-2000mASL At the start of the year we headed to Panama to find coffee for the rest of the year. We entered the cupping room at Lerida and knew from the first cup it was somewhere special and then later on the espresso machine as we shared our experiences. We tasted the coffees with Juan, who would later be crowed this years Panama Barista Champion with a Lerida coffee. This lot is a washed geisha that stood out for its clarity - it has the classic washed geisha characteristics we've come to expect, whilst also slight red fruit and citrus. In the cup you can expect flavour notes of lemon tea, honey and redcurrant.
