Nicaragua Tierra Linda - Washed
Description
Variety: Red Catuai and Caturra Process: Washed Region: Nueva Segovia Altitude: 1220 masl Tasting notes: Plum, caramel and almond Producer Information: Linda Vista comes from two neighboring farms in Las Manos, Dipilto, Nueva Segovia: Santa Isabel, with over 70 years of tradition at 1,220 meters above sea level, and Mirjam, acquired in 2025 at 1,252 meters. Caturra, Catuai, Parainema, and Catimor are cultivated on 18 hectares under diverse shade, while 15 hectares of virgin forest remain protected. The harvest, carried out by a stable team of 12 people, yields about 200 quintals of parchment coffee per season. Cherries are manually selected, floated, and processed with strict protocols: at Santa Isabel using traditional washed processing, and at Mirjam in Finca Bethania with washed, honey, natural, and anaerobic processes. All parchment coffee is conditioned at Cafetos de Segovia for classification and export. Management includes mixed fertilization, pruning, integrated pest control, and responsible water use. Despite climate challenges—irregular flowering at Santa Isabel and erratic rainfall at Mirjam—both farms produce a shaded, traceable, and high-quality coffee that balances family tradition with modern practices.
