Noé Misael Villatoro
Tasting Notes
Description
This coffee is so jammy and winey, with a super pleasing candy-like sweetness. It comes highly recommended from the JBC cupping team, who also called it berrylicious and effervescent. We taste blackberry, watermelon, vanilla, purple grape, and lots of big mixed berry notes. This special microlot comes from farmer Noé Misael Villatoro who grows coffee in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. Known for producing some of the best coffees in Central America, this region is extremely diverse with a climate and altitude lending itself to superior coffee production. This microlot is part of a program by our friends at Cafe Imports to isolate out exceptional small lots of farm-specific coffees in order to even further elevate the coffee quality coming out of the region and reward the farmer with higher prices for their coffee. It’s a win-win. We get an even better cup of coffee from a region already producing lovely cup profiles and the farmer gets recognized for their efforts and rewarded financially.
