Description

This coffee was grown by smallholder farmers located in the Muyinga Province of northeastern Burundi who contribute their ripe coffee cherry to the Busasa Washing Station. The station sources coffee from 1600 farmers in the surrounding area and features 151 drying beds. Perhaps most notably, Busasa’s  staff enjoys wages nearly 60% higher than the Burundi average, while producers receive a 20% premium above the local market rate for their coffee cherry. This particular lot of coffee (lot 334) was isolated out as a top quality lot and boasts tasting notes of cranberry, butterscotch, apple crumble, dried cherry, and sweet pea.
