NEW in June 2025 Ethiopia Gedeo Banko Chelchele New coffee has arrived from Ethiopia. Banko means "village" and Chelchel means "shine." This coffee is produced in the highland microregion of Gedeb and Wareda in the Gedeo region of Ethiopia. This region, which stretches from 1,900 to 2,300 meters above sea level, has rich red soil and is supported by traditional agroforestry, creating an ideal environment for coffee cultivation. In this area, we work closely with approximately 2,000 to 6,500 small-scale farmers, providing seedlings, cultivation guidance, pre-harvest funding, and training, with the aim of improving quality and stabilizing the livelihoods of farmers. Furthermore, the organization is proactively giving back to the local community, and is steadily providing support in the areas of education and infrastructure, including building a primary school for 800 children, building roads, clinics and wells, and offering scholarships. The varieties used are 74110 and 74112. 74110 has a floral and transparent taste, 74112 is characterized by its berry flavor and moist body.
