Gogogu, Dega & Kurume
Tasting Notes
Description
This batch of coffee comes from Gogogu Station in Wate Village and belongs to Nigusse Debel in Uraga, Guji. The processing station was built in 2020 at an altitude of over 2,100 meters and serves around 510 coffee farmers nearby. The coffee here is grown at heights up to 2,400 meters, making it one of the more remote and high-altitude growing areas in the Guji region. Wate Village is also known as the home of the 2025 TOH Champion of Washed Group. Ripe cherries are picked, the pulp is removed, and then left to ferment in a tank for 60 hours. After fermentation, the beans are dried on African drying beds. Sun-dried for 17-20 days before being stored in a warehouse. The unique local environment and good coffee varieties makes the Gogogu a bright citrus fruity note of the Guji region.
