Ethiopia - Rumudamo, 74110
Description
For 6 years in a row, we've been impressed by Rumudamo coffee and its amazing flavor. It first gained attention in 2020 when the Ethiopia COE recognized the 74110 variety with 2nd and 3rd place awards. Since then, its reputation has only grown. Two years later, producer Daye Bensa took over, and his 4 years of careful work have helped maintain its quality. This has also increased the popularity of coffee from the Arbegona region, leading to higher demand and prices in the market. Rumudamo is a small town in the Arbegona district, located in Sidama Zone, Ethiopia. The area is home to a diverse range of crops, including sugarcane, bananas, and spices, but coffee remains its primary economic driver. With an average elevation of 2,200 meters, it stands higher than most other Ethiopian coffee-growing regions, earning its place on the highland coffee list. Rumudamo Trading PLC oversees 840 hectares of coffee farms, employing over 600 workers and producing up to 350,000 kg of coffee annually. The washed process is the main process used here, though a small portion of coffee is also processed using the natural process.
