Guatemala Alejandro
Tasting Notes
Description
The Specialness Created by Three Generations of Tradition and Sincerity for Specialty Coffee Rosma Farm, located on the steep slopes of Huehuetenango in Guatemala, is more than just a coffee farm; it's a special place imbued with the story and passion of a family passed down through generations. This farm, started by the grandfather in 1963, was inherited by Mr. Fredy and was reborn as Rosma, named after his wife. Now, Fredy's son Alejandro has taken over the family business, continuing the coffee farming with family love and dedication. The Huehuetenango region has many steep terrains, making it difficult even to stand still, and obtaining clean water for coffee processing is also challenging. However, thanks to the high altitude reaching 1,800m above sea level and the microclimate created by large diurnal temperature variations, this area provides ideal conditions for producing complex flavors in coffee cherries. Therefore, they dug furrows on the steep slopes and planted coffee trees, and carefully cultivated coffee by bringing in clean water from 5km away and maintaining irrigation facilities. As a result, this family's coffee has been recognized for its excellent quality, achieving high rankings multiple times in the Guatemala Cup of Excellence competition, including 3rd and 4th place in 2022, 2nd place in 2023, 4th place in the Washed category and 3rd place in the Natural category in 2024, and in 2025, they achieved the remarkable feat of simultaneously winning 1st and 6th place in the Washed category. The reason this coffee is special is that, despite the harsh environment of the region, their unwavering passion and effort for specialty coffee have created the highest quality. Terarosa has been directly trading with this family since 2015, introducing this special coffee to the Korean market. Experience Guatemala Alejandro, a coffee that embodies the farmer's sincerity and the depth of nature in a single cup. This is the essence of Guatemalan coffee, confidently recommended by Terarosa.
