Tasting Notes
Description
* Variety: Gesha * Process: Lactic * Region: Antigua Guatemala * Altitude: 2000 masl * Tasting notes: pineapple yogurt, orange blossom water **Producer Information:** Finca Gascón is a recently established farm located in San Juan Gascón, Antigua Guatemala, at an altitude of 1800–2050 meters above sea level. Its history began in 2012, when Gildardo Contreras acquired the land and discovered its great potential for coffee cultivation. In 2014, the first Bourbon 300 plantation was sown, and two years later, 2 hectares of Geisha were incorporated, implementing a drip irrigation system. The first Geisha tasting reached a score of 88.5 points, marking the beginning of its reputation for quality. In 2019, Felipe Contreras, Gildardo's son, took on a key role, modernizing production processes and aligning the farm with specialty coffee trends, integrating innovation, sustainability, and a focus on excellence. We have been fortunate to experience firsthand their innovative processes and their commitment to conscious and environmentally responsible agriculture. During our visit to their biofactory, we were able to appreciate the research and development work they carry out to continuously improve coffee quality and promote sustainable practices.
