Colombia Los Veintitrés Sugarcane Decaf
Tasting Notes
Description
Origin: Colombia Varietal: Castillo, Caturra Process: Sugarcane Decaf Altitude: 1500 - 2000m Flavour notes: apricot, milk chocolate, creamy No caffeine, no stress. This decaf is a stalwart of our offerings at both our locations- no caffeine and no compromising on quality. About the producers This mixed varietal coffee is produced by a co-operative of farmers across Colombia's famous Huila region- 'Los Veintitrés', Spanish for 'The Twenty-three', refers to the producers who contribute to this fantastic lot. Processing The coffee undergoes a 60-hour dry fermentation process, followed by drying on raised beds and mechanical dryers, with a total drying time of 15 to 30 days. It is then decaffeinated using a natural substance from sugarcane, called Ethyl Acetate- this allows us to maximise the retention of the coffee's flavours whilst minimising the often harsh taste of the the decaffeination process. Flavour A creamy and chocolatey profile creates a comforting and approachable experience for every palate. We roast Monday & Tuesday. Please specify brewing method at checkout if you would like your coffee ground.
