Githiga Peaberry
Tasting Notes
Description
There is something so plush and pleasing about a a high quality Kenya peaberry and this top lot microlot is no exception. It’s buttery, crisp, and bursting with berry and floral notes. Grown by small holder farmers in Kenya’s Muranga region, this coffee was hand sorted, depulped, fermented overnight, and laid out on raised beds to dry where it was then hand sorted once more. The washing station works with local farmers by providing education on good agricultural practices, while also providing access to inputs to improve growing practices. This particular lot of coffee was isolated out as a top lot for its exceptional flavor, acidity, and body. Comprised solely of peaberry seeds, we found this coffee to be quite delightful with tasting notes of white strawberry, orange zest, pink lady apple, cherry, and sweet cherry tomato.
