Ethiopia Gesha Village Gesha1931 Natural Gold Label #Oma048
Tasting Notes
Description
About farm: Owned by Adam Overton and Rachel Samuel, this estate was chosen for its high altitude, abundant rainfall, fertile virgin forest soil, ancient trees, and thriving coffee ecosystem. Located near the Gori Gesha forest in remote western Ethiopia—believed to be the origin of the Gesha variety—the farm cultivates rare, high-value Gesha coffee. The Oma block is named after a revered local religious leader. About variety: Though often associated with Panama, Gesha was only introduced there in the 1960s. The "Gesha 1931" variety traces back to this region, named after the year and location where scientists collected and classified it during an Ethiopian research expedition.
