Decaf Colombia Coffee Beans 200g
Description
This coffee has 97% of its caffeine removed using only water. It's easy to drink with a pleasant bitterness and a refreshing aftertaste. It's suitable for cafe au lait and can be safely enjoyed by children. Uses Rainforest Alliance certified and Organic JAS certified green coffee beans. This Colombian coffee is grown on a farm at an elevation of approximately 1,800m. Located near the Chicamocha Valley, the area boasts low humidity and good sunlight, and the beans are cultivated in an excellent environment where cool air blows through at night. After harvest, the trees are given 20kg of organic fertilizer to maintain a healthy growing environment. The decaffeination process is carried out by DESCAMEX in Mexico. Caffeine is removed using only natural water and osmotic pressure. <Decaffeination Process> 1) High-temperature, high-pressure hot water dissolves the components of the green coffee beans. 2) Utilizing caffeine's property of adsorbing to activated charcoal. The liquid with dissolved components is filtered through activated charcoal. 3) The water from which caffeine has been removed is repeatedly re-immersed with the green coffee beans. 4) Components other than caffeine no longer dissolve (saturation state), and only caffeine is removed.
