Hayes Valley Espresso
Tasting Notes
Description
This espresso blend was created in 2005 with the opening of the Hayes Valley Kiosk in San Francisco. It is arguably Blue Bottle Coffee's darkest espresso. When enjoyed as a shot, you'll experience a substantial body, a rich reddish-brown crema, and a silky texture. When milk is added, it takes on a sweet, cocoa-like flavor, reminiscent of cocoa with sugar, and its presence is strongly felt in both a mere 90ml macchiato and a 360ml latte. Even brewed as a drip coffee, this blend offers a rounded, dark chocolate-like sweetness. This espresso blend, with its dark chocolate richness, creamy mouthfeel, and hint of brown sugar, pairs exceptionally well with milk.
